3rd Annual Halloween Candy Buyback for the Troops

On the 1st of November 2011, we had almost 250 children from the community bring in their excess Halloween candy for the third year in a row.  We shut the office down early and opened up to buy candy back from the kids to send to the troops.  We paid them a dollar per pound of candy and gave out free toothbrushes, coupons to Coldstone, Jose's for free meals, Pizza Chalet, and Frugos.

The kids wrote letters and colored pictures for the troops.  The amazing thing about our community is that we continued to receive candy donations for several more weeks after the actual event.  Over three hundred pounds of candy was collected for the troops overseas.  Several kids donated the money right back to the troops.

We want to thank everyone for participating and giving up their candy to support our soldiers overseas.  We collected the candy as part of Operation Gratitude and we are going to be holding this event every year until all of the troops come home.

We are doing it again for the fourth time on November 1st, 2011 if your children want to donate their candy to the troops as part of Operation Gratitude.  We will weigh the candy and pay your child $1.00 per pound of candy (up to 700 pounds total donations).  On Wednesday November 1st come between 3:00-5:00pm to 34675 Yucaipa Blvd., Suite #103 to participate in this fun event.  See you there!!!
